The Power of Purple

September marks World Alzheimer’s Month, and from September 11 through 21, Old Greenwich, CT, will be decked out in purple. โ€œThroughout this week, purple bows will be displayed on trees, purple flowers and pinwheels will be apparent through the town and merchants will be portraying purple to help bring awareness,โ€ says Wendy Day of Assisted Living Locators of Western, CT, a certified senior advisor who is dementia care certified.

Day was inspired by a 2016 Paint the Purple initiative and her personal experiences with her own father and other families โ€œaffected by this ugly diseaseโ€ to partner with the Alzheimerโ€™s Association for this latest initiative.
