A Snack Mix That Won’t Disappoint

Serendipity Must Have

You already know that By the Way Bakery, the gluten- and dairy-free, kosher bakery, makes delicious cakes and baked goods. (Case in point: The Amyโ€”an individual bundt cake with sprinkles inside and out that founder and CEO Helene Godin calls the โ€œbestseller among bestsellers.โ€) But now theyโ€™ve added a snack mix to their offerings thatโ€™s sure to become a new favorite. โ€œI always had in the back of my mind that Mo Mix would be the perfect addition to the By the Way Bakery menu. It was a family favorite and my go-to gift for friends for years,โ€ says Godin. The mix needed to be adjusted to not only fit their gluten- and dairy-free standards, but also be made in large batches.

โ€œMaking lemonade out of lemons, my bakers spent the winter of 2020 testing the process until they were successful. Because I knew that once our bakery customers opened a bag of Mo Mix, theyโ€™d definitely want another.โ€ she says. In three flavorsโ€”chocolate hazelnut, coconut almond, and pecan chai โ€”the โ€œsalty-sweetโ€ mix includes cereal squares, pretzels and salted caramel. They have four retail locations but the mix can also be ordered from their website and shipped. Plus, you can find their baked goods in Whole Foods throughout New England.
