A Jean-Georges Restaurant Comes to Greenwich

Hereโ€™s a new spot for date night or dinner with friends: Happy Monkey, the latest restaurant from Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten of NYCโ€™s ABC Cocina fame, as well as some 40 other restaurants. Slated to open this summer on Greenwich Avenue, youโ€™ll find seasonal dishes with a Latin twist, like shrimp tacos, whole roasted cauliflower with sour cherry mole, arroz con pollo, strawberry mango crisp and a variety of popsiclesโ€” plus a fun โ€œmargarita menu.โ€ The restaurant features a mural of artist Frida Kahlo with her pet spider monkey, created by NYC-based see.studios, and a large table perfect for parties.

Says Vongerichtenโ€™s of his summer must-haves: โ€œI have so many favorite summer dishes, itโ€™s hard to pick just one!,โ€ says the Michelin-starred chef. โ€œI love to eat with a big group of people and share a selection of dishes, family style. Some of these dishes include sucrine and arugula salad, pea guacamole, fluke crudo, corn and tomato salad, and spicy corn. In the summer, I like to drink rosรฉ and refreshing drinks such as a watermelon rosรฉ sangria. Crisp, light and delicious.โ€
