Raising the (Design) Barre

Barre Studio class

Classes are just part of what makes smaller fitness studios stand outโ€”the design is the other part. Case in point: The recently opened Greenwich Barre Studio, which founder Cindy Sites describes as having a serene and spa-like feel. โ€œSomething about the natural light, calming neutrals of cream, gold and platinum just makes you exhale and feel at peace,โ€ she says. The 1,000-square foot studio on Greenwich Avenue was designed by Cindy Rinfret and the team at Rinfret, LTD. โ€œThe design touches on all sensesโ€”the rug in the studio is soft and luxurious and beautiful cushioned seating in the reception area makes you feel comforted and cared for.โ€ Sites, a veteran barre instructor, says she knew from the start she wanted a โ€œboutiqueโ€ feel for the studio. โ€œThis is not a big franchise and I want to know every client and feel that we have a special community. It was important to me that the interior design of the studio reflect this sense of a sanctuary.โ€ greenwichbarrestudio.com
